Ingredients
- 3 pounds Round Steak
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/2 cups Flour
- 2 Tablespoons Oil Or Shortening
- 1/4 cups Vinegar
- 1 whole Onion, Sliced
Method
- Combine salt, pepper and flour and pound into steak.
- Brown steak quickly in hot oil or shortening.
- Add the vinegar and turn the steak to coat.
- I add more vinegar as needed to be sure all the meat gets coated before the vinegar cooks dry.
- Add the sliced onion and water to cover.
- Reduce heat and simmer covered 6 8 hours or until tender.
- Remove meat and thicken juice for gravy.
- I make this in an electric skillet, but you could use a dutch oven on the stove top or oven.
- Just be sure the water doesnt all boil away.
