Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. lightly salted butter or margarine
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 3 c. uncooked old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 c. chopped almonds

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Grease 8-inch square baking pan.
  • Melt butter in large saucepan.
  • Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and honey until combined.
  • Stir in oats and almonds.
  • When well mixed, press into prepared pan using back of wooden spoon.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Remove from oven and place on wire rack.
  • Press mixture down again and cut into bars.
  • When cool, remove bars and store in airtight container at room temperature or wrap and freeze.
