Ingredients

  • 9/16 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 orange
  • 1 5/8 cups flour
  • 15/16 cup ground almonds
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 orange
  • 2 oranges
  • 7/8 cup confectioners sugar
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice

Method

  • In a medium bowl, combine butter sugar, egg, egg yolk, orange zest and flour. Mix everything until well incorporated.
  • Divide the dough in half, roll out the first half and place it in the bottom of a tart dish.
  • Prepare the filling mixing the almonds, sugar, orange juice and zest.
  • Spread the dough with almond mixture.
  • Roll out the second half of dough and place on top of the almond mixture.
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius .
  • Prepare the glaze. Mix orange juice with confectioners sugar and brush the tart right after coming out of the oven.
  • Cut the tart while it is still hot. Let it cool before serving.
