Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, fried crisp
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 8 to 10 hamburger buns, toasted

Method

  • Cook the bacon until crisp; drain on a paper towel.
  • Cook onion in bacon grease; drain in a colander.
  • Cook the ground beef until done; add the bacon and onion.
  • Blend the flour and seasonings into the mixture; stir in the soup.
  • Cook slowly, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in the sour cream and heat through.
  • Serve, open-faced, on the toasted buns. Feeds four teenage boys or a family of six.
