Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. mashed fully ripe bananas (2 or 3)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 1 c. chopped walnuts
Method
- Combine sugar, shortening, bananas, egg and buttermilk in bowl and mix well.
- Blend in remaining ingredients until well mixed. Turn into greased loaf or bread pan.
- Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
