Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 c. plain flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 c. milk
Method
- Cream
- shortening.
- Add sugar and cream well.
- Add well beaten egg yolks. Then add flour that has been sifted 3 times with
- salt and baking powder along with milk (a little of each at
- time). Last,
- fold in well beaten egg whites.
- Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Makes 3 square layers.
