Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 7 1/2 c. flour

Method

  • Heat and mix shortening and milk; stir until melted.
  • Add sugar, salt and cold water.
  • Add eggs after taking off stove.
  • Mix well.
  • Add yeast and 1/2 of the flour and beat until well mixed. Add rest of flour.
  • Place in bowl and let it rise.
  • Place in oven at 350° for approximately 1 hour or until brown.
