Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chicken wings
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce

Method

  • Singe wings if needed.
  • Cut off tips and discard.
  • Divide each wing in half.
  • Place in single layer or rack in broiler.
  • Bake 30 minutes at 400°.
  • Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, ginger, pepper, water, lemon juice and soy sauce in small saucepan.
  • Stir constantly until mixture boils; boil 3 minutes.
  • Brush over chicken.
  • Cook chicken 40 minutes more and continue turning and basting with remaining mixture.
