Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 c. oil
- 6 to 6 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast into water; stir in sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Add salt, oil and flour.
- Make sure you add enough flour to be able to handle; knead until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let sit until double.
- Punch down and shape into two loaves.
- Heat oven to 400°.
- Bake about 35 minutes or until loaves sound hollow. Spread with butter while still hot.
