Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops
  • 1 large onion (6 slices)
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Brown chops in oil.
  • Remove.
  • Stir in chili powder.
  • Add green pepper, rice, tomato sauce, water and salt; cook for 2 minutes. Pour into shallow 8-cup baking dish.
  • Put chops over rice.
  • Place onion slices on chops.
  • Cover dish.
  • Bake at 375° for 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Add a little water after 40 minutes to keep moist.
