Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. milk
- dash of pepper
- toast or crackers
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1/3 tsp. salt
- 1 c. grated mild or sharp cheese
Method
- Heat butter in double boiler; remove from heat and add flour. Return to heat; add milk gradually, stirring constantly, until sauce boils.
- Add seasonings; simmer 5 minutes.
- Add grated cheese and stir until melted.
- Serve on toast or crackers (also good on macaroni).
