Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. beef suet
  • 2 lb. ground venison
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. white pepper
  • 2 tsp. diced chili pods

Method

  • Fry suet in heavy kettle.
  • Add venison.
  • Cook, stirring, until browned.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Add enough water to cover.
  • Cook slowly for 4 to 5 hours, stirring occasionally, adding water as needed for desired consistency.
  • Serve with pinto beans.
  • Freezes well.
