Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. canned milk
- 1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Method
- Stir sugar and canned milk until dissolved, heating slowly to a slow boil (will scorch easily).
- Place cream of tartar on side of pan and dissolve before mixing thoroughly.
- Cook slowly to soft ball stage.
- Add Karo syrup.
- Set aside to cool.
- Add vanilla and butter.
- Cool to thumbprint.
- Beat until smooth.
- Add nuts and pour into greased pan.
