Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. butter flavor shortening
  • 1 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

Method

  • Cream the butter flavor shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla. Blend in egg.
  • Mix flour, salt and soda. Add to previous mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Bake 8 to 10 minutes (for chewy cookies) or 11 to 13 minutes (for crispy cookies) at 375°.
  • Makes about 3 dozen.
