Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
  • 4 oz. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Prepare cake mix as directed on the box.
  • Pour 1/2 of the mixture into a prepared 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. While that's baking, melt caramels and milk in microwave.
  • After 15 minutes of baking, remove cake from oven and pour caramel mixture on top of it.
  • Add chocolate chips and pecans and place back into oven for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Serve with Cool Whip.
