Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. soft oleo
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Method
- Combine caramels and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in double boiler, over hot water and stir until melted.
- Can be done in microwave in dish.
- Combine cake mix, remaining milk and oleo. Blend until mixture holds together.
- Stir in nuts.
- Press 1/2 of cake mixture in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake for 6 minutes at 350°.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Pour melted caramels evenly on top.
- Crumble remaining mix over caramels and bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Cool, cut in bars.
