Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. walnuts or raisins or 1/2 each
  • 1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 Tbsp. boiling water (last)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Method

  • Beat butter, sugar and soup.
  • Add spices, flour and baking powder; mix well.
  • Add nuts and/or raisins.
  • Last, add water and soda.
  • Bake in a bread loaf pan which has been greased and floured for about 3/4 hour to 1 hour at 350°.
