Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. beef stew meat, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
  • 3 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 2 c. chopped carrots
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. frozen peas

Method

  • Combine flour, salt and pepper in a bag.
  • Add meat; shake meat to coat.
  • Melt margarine in a large pan.
  • Brown meat.
  • Add beef broth.
  • Cook, covered, over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Add potatoes, carrots, onions and celery.
  • Cover and cook for 1 to 1 1/4 hours, until tender.
  • Add peas; cook until heated through. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
