Ingredients
- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. dark corn syrup
- 1/3 c. light cream
- 1/4 c. corn oil margarine
- 1/3 c. coarsely chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
- In heavy 3-quart saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup and cream.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until temperature on candy thermometer reaches 260° or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a ball which is hard enough to hold its shape, yet elastic.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in nuts and vanilla. Continue stirring 2 minutes.
- Turn into prepared pan.
- Cool slightly.
