Ingredients
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 sticks oleo
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- In large bowl, sift sugar, flour, soda and salt; set aside. Melt the margarine, water and cocoa in saucepan and bring to rolling boil; set aside a few minutes.
- In small bowl, beat eggs lightly; add buttermilk and vanilla.
- Beat into bowl of flour, sugar mixture; beat in hot cocoa mixture.
- Turn into floured and greased large cookie sheet with sides (17 x 12-inch pan).
- Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Frost while warm.
