Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. strong coffee brewed or water
- 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. vinegar
Method
- In a large bowl, sift sugar and flour.
- In heavy pan, combine butter, shortening, and coffee or water.
- Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
- Use a wooden spoon.
- Pour in well greased pan, 17 1/2 x 11-inches.
- Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
- While brownies are baking, make the frosting.
