Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. tomato paste
  • 1 c. picante sauce (mild or medium)
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 c. Ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 3/4 c. plus 1 1/2 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 lb. lasagna noodles, uncooked

Method

  • In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, brown beef with the onion and drain the liquid.
  • Add the tomato paste, picante sauce, water, oregano and basil.
  • Mix well and set aside.
  • Combine Ricotta or cottage cheese and 3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese in a large bowl; set aside.
  • Spray an 8 x 11-inch baking pan with nonstick vegetable spray.
