Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 can olives, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. dry corn meal
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 cans water (use the cans from the tomato sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. grated cheese

Method

  • Use large black skillet or a baking dish (if using baking dish, oil first).
  • Brown hamburger and drain.
  • Add onion to hamburger; let simmer.
  • Add corn, olives, tomato sauce, corn meal, water, milk and seasonings.
  • Stir well.
  • Spread cheese on top. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
