Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 c. peanut butter
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
  • frosting

Method

  • Sift together flour, sugar, soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • Cut in peanut butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Mix egg, milk and vanilla; add to flour mixture with oats.
  • Mix well.
  • Spread in lightly greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Frost.
