Ingredients

  • 5 lb. self-rising flour
  • warm water
  • 1/2 c. shortening or oil
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 c. sliced black olives
  • 1 can red beans
  • 1 head shredded lettuce
  • 2 lb. browned hamburger
  • taco seasoning
  • taco sauce

Method

  • Mix enough warm water to flour to be able to knead dough. Also add oil to flour.
  • Let set for 2 hours.
  • Just before meal, break off pieces, approximately 1/2 cup and spread out and fry in hot 400°
  • oil.
  • Makes about 12 tacos, plate-sized.
  • Layer other ingredients on the fry bread.
  • Fun to do and eat.
