- 1/2 c. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. sliced white onion
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/4 c. catsup
- 1 c. vegetable oil
Method
- Put lemon juice, vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, salt, pepper, onion, celery seed, turmeric and garlic in pan.
- Bring to a boil. Turn down and simmer 2 minutes.
- Cool and add remaining ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate.
- Serve on a crisp salad.
- It is too heavy a sauce for Boston lettuce.
- Good on thinly sliced cabbage with red and green peppers also thinly sliced.
