Ingredients
- 2 lb. round or chuck (1-inch thick)
- 2 (8 oz.) cans (2 c.) tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
Method
- Combine flour, salt and pepper.
- Coat meat with mixture. Brown meat slowly on both sides in hot oil.
- Combine next 5 ingredients and pour over meat.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Add onions.
- Put into casserole dish.
- Cover and bake at 350° for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until fork-tender.
- Serves 6.
