Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. Wesson oil
  • 2 to 2 1/2 lb. round steak (1 to 1 1/2 to 2-inches thick)
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can Hunt's whole tomatoes

Method

  • Combine flour, salt and pepper.
  • Pound seasoned flour into both sides of round steak. Cook onions in Wesson oil until tender; remove and set aside. Brown meat in oil; drain fat.
  • Top meat with onions and tomatoes. Cover and simmer 2 to 3 hours or until meat is tender. Thicken sauce, if desired, and season to taste.
  • Serve with potatoes, rice or noodles.
  • Makes 6 servings.
