Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. cooked mashed sweet potatoes
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. milk
Method
- Sift together dry ingredients.
- Cut in shortening.
- Blend in sweet potatoes.
- Add enough milk to make a soft dough (this will depend on moisture in potatoes).
- Knead lightly.
- Roll 3/4-inch thick on lightly floured board.
- Cut with floured 2-inch cutters. Bake in hot oven (400°) on ungreased baking sheet for 20 minutes or until brown.
- Makes about 15 biscuits.
