Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 to 3 slices bread, crumbled
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 5 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. catsup

Method

  • Mix these ingredients in a pan on stove for sauce.
  • Stir as it cooks.
  • Add 2/3 cup of the sauce to the ground beef mixture.
  • Cook ground beef mixture in a loaf pan (4 1/2 x 8 1/2-inches) at 350° for 60 minutes.
  • After a half hour of cooking time, carefully pour off the grease from the ground beef and add the rest of the sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Cook for the remaining half an hour.
  • Feeds 6 to 8 people.
