- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 to 3 slices bread, crumbled
- 1 egg, beaten
- 5 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 c. water
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. catsup
Method
- Mix these ingredients in a pan on stove for sauce.
- Stir as it cooks.
- Add 2/3 cup of the sauce to the ground beef mixture.
- Cook ground beef mixture in a loaf pan (4 1/2 x 8 1/2-inches) at 350° for 60 minutes.
- After a half hour of cooking time, carefully pour off the grease from the ground beef and add the rest of the sauce to the beef mixture.
- Cook for the remaining half an hour.
- Feeds 6 to 8 people.
