Ingredients
- 2 dry yeast
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 7 to 7 1/2 c. Gold Medal flour
- 1/2 c. melted shortening (part butter)
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- 1 c. sifted powdered sugar
Method
- Mix all dry ingredients, including yeast, but use only 1/3 of the flour.
- Mix all wet ingredients, including shortening, and heat to hot-warm.
- Combine and mix with mixer for two minutes. Add eggs and more flour to thicken.
- Mix a couple of minutes. Add rest of flour.
