Ingredients
- 1 slice whole wheat bread, crumbled
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) margarine
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1 egg
Method
- Combine bread, salt, paprika, pepper and milk.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Mix in chuck and egg.
- Shape into patties.
- Melt margarine in skillet. Fry patties 4 to 5 minutes on each side at medium heat.
- Remove from pan and place in a covered dish in a warm oven.
- Saute onions in margarine and drippings remaining in skillet.
- When onions are tender, sprinkle with flour.
- Stir in milk and cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
- Spoon over meat.
