Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. pulverized baking ammonia or 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar and 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Method
- Beat the butter for 30 seconds.
- Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
- Combine flour and baking ammonia or cream of tartar and soda.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
- Shape the dough into 3/4-inch balls.
- Place the balls on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Using your fingers, press lightly in centers of the cookies.
- Bake in a 375° oven for 7 to 9 minutes or until done.
- Open oven door carefully to avoid fumes if you use baking ammonia.
- Makes 80 to 90 cookies.
