Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 large potatoes
  • 16 oz. carton sour cream
  • 2 c. Cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 c. melted margarine
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 c. crunched potato chips
  • 6 slices bacon, fried crisp, drained and crumbled

Method

  • Wash potatoes and boil until tender.
  • Cool, peel and dice. Combine next 6 ingredients and mix with potatoes.
  • Spoon into a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 30 minutes at 350°.
  • Stir.
  • Cover with crunched chips and bacon.
  • Bake another 15 minutes.
  • Makes at least 12 generous servings.
