Ingredients
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix dry ingredients together.
- Cut shortening into dry ingredients until fine particles are formed.
- In another bowl, beat eggs; add sugar and vanilla.
- Add to 1st mixture; blend well. Chill 1/2 hour.
- Roll dough out onto floured surface, 1/4 inch thick. Cut with desired cookie cutters.
- Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Makes 4 to 6 dozen.
