Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Method

  • Cream shortening, oleo and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
  • Blend and shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Press with glass dipped in sugar.
  • Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Makes about 5 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
