Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour

Method

  • Cream margarine and sugars.
  • Add egg, beating well.
  • Add oil and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar.
  • Add to first mixture and beat well.
  • Stir in vanilla.
  • Roll into long rolls.
  • Wrap in waxed paper; put in refrigerator or freeze to chill.
  • Slice in thin slices.
  • Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
