Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. flour

Method

  • Cream butter, 2 sugars, and oil. Beat in eggs and add vanilla. Combine flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Stir in creamed mixture. Place all in a plastic bowl and store in the refrigerator over night covered. Pinch off pieces and shape into small balls. Roll balls into granulated sugar. Place on cookie sheet and flatten each ball with a glass. Bake at 325 for 8 - 10 minutes. Cool 2 -3 minutes with pan on wire rack.
