Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 3 egg whites
- 1/3 c. sugar
- dash of salt
Method
- Moisten cornstarch in small amount of water.
- Stir in boiling water.
- Cool.
- Beat egg whites until stiff; add salt, then add sugar gradually.
- Beat in the cooked and cooled cornstarch until firm peaks form.
- Brown 10 minutes at 425°.
- Makes enough meringue for 2 pies.
- This holds up with no weeping.
