Ingredients

  • 30 slices bread, cubed
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 2/3 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped celery or 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 c. parsley
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 to 1 c. broth, milk or water (optional)

Method

  • Melt butter. Add onion, green pepper and celery. Stir in seasonings, eggs and broth.
  • (Add broth, milk or water only when not stuffing a bird.)
  • Stir into bread cubes.
  • Place in casserole dish. Bake at 325° for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
