Ingredients

  • 3 green peppers
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. ketchup
  • 1 c. hamburger meat, cooked (cold)
  • 1 small can whole corn
  • 3 Tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • 1 c. beef stock

Method

  • Wash peppers. Remove stalk ends and seeds. Parboil gently in boiling salted water for 10 minutes. Drain. Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and mix well; cook 1 minute. Add milk and stir until boiling. Combine this sauce with salt, pepper, ketchup, meat and well drained corn. Fill the peppers and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Place into a greased ovenproof dish with stock or water. Bake in moderate oven until tender.
