Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 6 sweet peppers
- 1 large onion
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 tsp. salt
Method
- Cut off stem ends of peppers and remove seeds.
- Boil pepper shells for about 5 minutes in lightly salted water and drain.
- Mix ground beef with bread crumbs, chopped onion and tomatoes which have been drained (save the juice).
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Stuff peppers with the mixture, pour juice from tomatoes over peppers and bake in a moderate oven (about 350°) for 1 1/2 hours or until peppers are tender and the stuffing cooked through.
