Ingredients

  • 1 lb. loaf white sandwich bread
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup

Method

  • Cut 1 pound loaf of day old white sandwich bread into cubes. Spread half of bread in greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Cut cream cheese into small cubes.
  • Sprinkle half over bread in pan. Repeat, layering with remaining bread and cheese.
  • Whisk eggs, milk and syrup in large bowl.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Bake uncovered 30 to 40 minutes until knife comes out clean.
  • Let stand 15 minutes. Serve warm with additional syrup.
  • Serves 10.
