Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 4 ounces, weight Canned Sliced Mushrooms, Drained
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt And Pepper
  • 1 can (6oz) French Fried Onions
  • 26 ounces, fluid Cream Of Mushroom Soup (Family Size)
  • 1 cup Sour Cream, Divided
  • 2 cans (16 Oz Each) Refrigerator Biscuits
  • 1 teaspoon Celery Salt
  • 2 whole Eggs

Method

  • Brown the beef and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is well browned.
  • Season as you like.
  • If necessary, drain off the grease.
  • Place the meat and mushrooms in the bottom of a 9x13 or similar sized casserole dish.
  • Top with 1/2 of the French fried onions.
  • In a small saucepan, heat soup and 1/2 cup of the sour cream over medium heat.
  • Once its heated through, pour it over the meat mixture.
  • Top with remaining French fried onions.
  • Flatten and cut the biscuits in half and place them on top of the onion layer like a puzzle, until no filling is showing.
  • (You will have some biscuits left most likely, just bake them for tomorrows breakfast or something!)
  • Mix the remaining 1/2 cup sour cream, celery salt and eggs.
  • Pour over the top of the casserole, trying to hit only the biscuits.
  • Bake at 375 F for 25-30 minutes.
  • Serve with steamed green beans for a simple and delicious meal!
