Ingredients

  • 5 egg whites
  • 12 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 34 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 12 cup flour
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries or 1 pint frozen strawberries
  • 12 pint whipped cream

Method

  • Beat egg whites until frothy.
  • add cream of tarter, beat until stiff.
  • add powdered sugar, gradually.
  • add beaten egg yolks, flour, and vanilla.
  • pour into greased jelly roll pan.
  • bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • place on towel sprinkled with powdered sugar.
  • roll in towel and let cool.
  • unroll, sprinkle with sliced strawberries over cake.
  • spread with whip topping.
