Ingredients

  • 4 c. crushed strawberries
  • 8 c. sugar
  • 2 boxes Sure-Jell fruit pectin
  • 1 1/2 c. water

Method

  • Mix strawberries and sugar thoroughly.
  • Set aside 10 minutes. Stir Sure-Jell with water in saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Boil 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir mixtures together until sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Pour into plastic containers; cover.
  • Let stand at room temperature for 1 day.
  • Jam is then ready to use.
  • Store in freezer or refrigerator.
  • Thaw in refrigerator.
  • Yields 8 (1 cup) containers.
