Ingredients
- 1 baked 10-inch pie shell
- 1 qt. strawberries (if small, leave whole; if large, cut in half)
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- salt
- 4 rounded tsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix water, sugar, cornstarch and salt thoroughly. Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly. When thick, add vanilla and red food coloring to make
- a rich red.
- Let mixture cool. Add strawberries. Place in pie shell and refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving. Decorate with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
