Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 c. scalding milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Mix milk, shortening, sugar, salt and 1 cup flour.
- Beat with spoon.
- Add yeast and egg.
- Add rest of flour; let rise until double.
- Punch down.
- Roll; spread with butter.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll as for jelly roll.
- Slice 1-inch thick and put in pan on top of Sticky Goo.
- Let rise until Goo cannot be seen.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
- Take out and let rest 1 minute; turn upside-down on cookie sheet.
