Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks, approximately 1/2 lb. each
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 6 to 8 medium size mushrooms, sliced
- 4 oz. half and half
- thyme leaves
- salt and pepper
- margarine
Method
- Saute onion in margarine in 8-inch skillet.
- Remove from skillet with slotted spoon and set aside.
- Sprinkle steaks with salt, pepper and thyme leaves and fry them in the margarine remaining from onions, add more margarine if needed.
- When steaks are done as desired, remove from skillet and set aside.
- Return onions to skillet and add mushrooms, saute mushrooms.
- Add half and half to skillet with mushrooms and onions.
- Heat sauce to boiling, stirring frequently.
- Serve steaks, covered with mushroom sauce, along with Twice Baked Potatoes and Radishes and Peapods.
