Ingredients
- 6 large yellow squash
- 4 onions
- 2 green peppers
- 1/4 c. salt
- cold water
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 2 tsp. celery seed
- 2 tsp. turmeric
Method
- Grind squash, onions and green peppers; mix together.
- Add the salt.
- Cover with cold water and let stand 1 hour.
- Put vinegar, sugar and spices together and boil 3 minutes.
- Add drained squash. Don't wash off the salt.
- Simmer together for 5 minutes.
- Pack in hot, sterilized jars and seal.
